"I do set goals for myself, work on them but don't seem to make much progress. So my goals stay the same month after month, year after year."
I get this question a lot! And here are the most common reasons I noticed:
It might be not YOUR goal. Is it something YOU truly want? or something that society/family/spouse/friends think you should want/expected to do/have? Is it in line with your true values? What are your values?
You don't fully understand your motivation behind that goal. When we don't fully understand how it will change our live, we won't be motivated to do much. Why do you really want it? The first answer that comes up to you usually is not the real answer. Keep digging deep. Tip: there is a great worksheet called "Why do you want it?" in my Plan your best year workbook that you can download for free here.
You don't have a strategy to get there. When we take sporadic actions towards out goal without seeing the big picture of how we will get there, those actions won't bring big results.
If you've been going at it for months, but with very little results, your actions might not be exactly right. When you do the same things over and over again but not getting the results you want, you might need to take different actions. Take a step back and look at what you've been doing: analyze what is NOT working and see what NEW actions you might need to take.
You might have a deep-rooted belief or fear that you are not conscious of that is stopping you from getting it. Send me a message - I'd love you help you dig deep on this one!
Do you have time in your life right now to do it? Set specific hours each week to dedicate to your goal.
Do you have the necessary skills to do it?
I will be happy to help you reflect on any of these - just send me a DM!
